Writing this first blog creates some nervousness. Some reach for comfort food, I reach for one of my favorite things…quotes…and chose one of my very favorites. It’s a quote attributed to Goethe. Many people have been given a copy of it by me. I hand it out hoping it will speak to the other as it has to me. I post it so I can see it at work, in my studio, or making coffee. I have created a piece of art using the entire quote and I once wrote this quote in the waistband of my dear soulmate. And so here it is again today helping me launch Sacred Mountain Press. I can’t think of a better use of it!
How does inspiration happen? Sometimes it comes while packing the suitcase.
I had just graduated from The Institute for Applied Meditation on the Heart (July 29, 2016). The ceremonies were over and I was in my room packing for the flight home from Tucson, Arizona. As clear as a bell, the words came to me: Sacred Mountain Press. I remember saying out loud several times…Sacred Mountain Press. Then curiously, What is that?
I could wrap my mind around Sacred Mountain because as an artist I create images of mountains with layers of paper and I was incorporating contemplation into my art which offered the sacred element.
But Press? What is that?
On the plane ride back East, I wrote the ideas as they came. It was to be a website that held a place for the sacred expression of writing and art. It would be a place for my niece, Kelly, to write her amazing downloads of insights. It would be a place where I could cultivate a platform that supported my knowing that art is healing. In this world of chaos, Beauty and Harmony are the balms of the Heart.
So I took the leap. I made the commitment. I called my lawyer to see if the name Sacred Mountain Press was available. If it wasn’t then I could stop the process. But as you can see, it was available!
And so the story goes. Each door has opened for this inspiration to manifest into reality.

I have begun. We have begun. Providence has moved and has assisted this dream to manifest. It has taken energy, time, courage (boldness), effort and collaboration. In the midst of all of that is an excitement and passion that becomes infused in the mix. There is an anticipation of what will be next. The same kind of anticipation one experiences when one shows up in the wee hours of the morning to watch the sun make its debut… with no hesitancy. There it is. Voila!
